Free Boomwhacker play-alongs for your music class

bimbadi is a free website for teaching music with Boomwhackers. Your class plays color-coded play-alongs on the smartboard or projector: the notes fly in, and every student plays when their color arrives. There is no sign-up, no ads and no tracking, and you can play the tubes right in the browser. No tubes at hand? With the QR wall, phones and tablets become the instruments.

Questions and answers

Is bimbadi really free?

Yes. The tools and the free play-alongs run in the browser with no sign-up, no ads and no tracking. Some play-alongs are a bonus that comes with colored sheet music on eduki and unlock with the code printed inside.

What are the Boomwhacker colors?

C is red, D orange, E yellow, F light green, G dark green, A purple, B pink, and high C is red again. Every play-along uses exactly these colors, so students simply play when their color arrives.

Do I need real Boomwhackers?

No. On the QR wall every student scans a code and gets one color as an instrument on a phone or tablet. You can also tap the tubes right on the interactive whiteboard. Real tubes are the most fun, of course.

Which devices and grade levels does it work for?

Any current browser works: a laptop with a projector, an interactive whiteboard, an iPad or a phone, without an app. The songs are made for elementary and general music class, and the classical and jazz pieces work well in middle school, too.

bimbadi is also available auf Deutsch, with more songs, rhythm games and music theory for grades 5 to 10.
