Bach’s Toccata in D Minor on Boomwhackers

Bach’s Toccata in D Minor is a color-coded Boomwhacker play-along on bimbadi: the notes fly toward your class in their tube colors on the smartboard or projector, with note names instead of lyrics. You need the 8-note diatonic set plus the C♯ and B♭ tubes from the chromatic set. The best-known spooky organ music of all, traditionally attributed to Johann Sebastian Bach. This play-along is a bonus that comes with the colored sheet music on eduki; the code inside unlocks it.

Classroom idea

Listen to the opening and let students describe how the organ sounds. The motif comes three times as an echo: one group plays loud, a second answers softly.
