Il est né (He Is Born) on Boomwhackers

Il est né (He Is Born) is a color-coded Boomwhacker play-along on bimbadi: the notes fly toward your class in their tube colors on the smartboard or projector, with the French lyrics on screen. All you need is the 8-note diatonic set from C to high C. A traditional French carol that alternates between refrain and verse; choirs often sing it in English as “He Is Born”. This play-along is a bonus that comes with the colored sheet music on eduki; the code inside unlocks it.

Classroom idea

Learn the refrain first and let everyone play it, then give the verses to a smaller group. Students who study French can sing the refrain. It adds a world-music touch to a winter concert.
