Mars from The Planets on Boomwhackers
Mars from The Planets is a color-coded Boomwhacker play-along on bimbadi: the notes fly toward your class in their tube colors on the smartboard or projector, with note names instead of lyrics. You only need C♯, D and G. Gustav Holst’s Mars is in 5/4 time: five beats in every measure. This play-along is a bonus that comes with the colored sheet music on eduki; the code inside unlocks it.
The player’s menus are in German for now. Press ▶ and play: “Tempo” is the speed slider, “Tonart” means key.

Classroom idea
Count the measure out loud, one to five, and let students tap the ostinato on G before the tubes come in. The theme group needs the C♯ tube, which stands in for D♭.
