The Entertainer on Boomwhackers
The Entertainer is a color-coded Boomwhacker play-along on bimbadi: the notes fly toward your class in their tube colors on the smartboard or projector, with note names instead of lyrics. You need the 8-note diatonic set plus the F♯, E♭, G♯ and B♭ tubes from the chromatic set. Low F♯, G, A and B are tubes with an octave cap. Scott Joplin’s ragtime from 1902 is full of syncopation. This play-along is a bonus that comes with the colored sheet music on eduki; the code inside unlocks it.
The player’s menus are in German for now. Press ▶ and play: “Tempo” is the speed slider, “Tonart” means key.

Classroom idea
Clap the rhythm of the melody while your feet stomp a steady beat: that is ragtime in a nutshell. With octave caps and several chromatic tubes, this one is a challenge for an experienced group.
