Entry of the Gladiators on Boomwhackers

Entry of the Gladiators is a color-coded Boomwhacker play-along on bimbadi: the notes fly toward your class in their tube colors on the smartboard or projector, with note names instead of lyrics. You need the 8-note diatonic set plus the C♯, E♭, F♯, G♯ and B♭ tubes from the chromatic set. Julius Fučík’s circus march lives on fast chromatic runs. This play-along is a bonus that comes with the colored sheet music on eduki; the code inside unlocks it.

No tubes? With the QR wall every student scans a code and gets one color as an instrument on a phone or tablet. Boomwhacker colors: C red, D orange, E yellow, F light green, G dark green, A purple, B pink, high C red again.

Classroom idea

Lay the chromatic tubes in their places between the diatonic tubes so students can see what a scale made only of half steps looks like. Without a chromatic set, simply play the notes from the diatonic set.
