Silent Night on Boomwhackers
Silent Night is a color-coded Boomwhacker play-along on bimbadi: the notes fly toward your class in their tube colors on the smartboard or projector, with the German lyrics on screen. You need the 8-note diatonic set plus the E♭ and B♭ tubes from the chromatic set. It was first sung on Christmas Eve 1818 in Oberndorf near Salzburg, Austria, with guitar accompaniment. This play-along is a bonus that comes with the colored sheet music on eduki; the code inside unlocks it.
The player’s menus are in German for now. Press ▶ and play: “Tempo” is the speed slider, “Tonart” means key.

Classroom idea
Tell that story, then count two slow beats per measure with your class, like rocking a cradle. Play it in B♭ major like many hymnals, or in C major without any chromatic tubes. Students can sing the English words while the German original runs on screen.
